First Course Overview

The first course in this path will be a minicourse and will cover the absolutely everything considered A0 and prepare you for everything you will learn about Romanian. Think about this as a Foundation course. It is for people who want to get a grasp of Romanian, and perfectly suitable for those who have never studied formally a language before. It will cover and put in context everyday expressions and phrases, basic grammar, sounds and more.

Learning Objectives

Most TBD, but at the end of this course you will be prepared to start learning basic Romanian.

Teaching Methods

Language learning can be quite dull and boring without practical examples and cool visuals. That is why the course is packed with:

• real-life conversations between Romanian speakers,
• plenty of learning materials as PDFs and audio files,
• fun grammar (yes, fun),
• relevant stories from your instructor,
• links and references to learn more about about the covered topics,
• and more.

Prerequisites

The previous level of the desired one (e.g. if you want to get the A0 course, you don’t need to know anything, if you want A1, you should know A0, etc.)

Instructor

Ștefan is a computer scientist turned journalist, turned language tutor. His love for languages, and specifically for Romanian, made him combine all his skills into one and create the Romanian Academy.

Since the pandemic hit he has taught Romanian to hundreds of students worldwide, making sure they understand and apply their skills in the real world. His alumni have now a functional, happy life in Romania, manage to have deep conversations with their in-laws, understand their workmates’ jokes, and last but not least, they became their own Romanian teachers.
